Alliance Personnel Agency is currently working with a client in their search to fill a 6am-2pm, Maintenance Assistance position in Grand Prairie, TX. The pay rate is $18.00 HOURLY.
Job Description:
A Maintenance Assistant can perform basic Maintenance functions like Facility Repairs, as well as office or administrative tasks like cleaning and organizing the Maintenance shop”. Help installation, maintenance, and repair workers in maintenance, parts replacement, and repair of vehicles, industrial machinery, and electrical and electronic equipment. Perform duties such as furnishing tools, materials, and supplies to other workers; cleaning work area, machines, and tools; and holding materials or tools for other workers.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs (outlets, light bulbs), plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance.
- Clean interior of the building, as well as machinery and equipment, and exterior of the building
- Complete administrative duties, such as filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses to supervisor
- Comply with all safety and health regulations
- Keep inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to supervisor
- Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues
- Work with and maintain relationships with contracted vendors
- May be required to work outside of normal work hours
- Tend and observe equipment and machinery to verify efficient and safe operation.
- Examine and test machinery, equipment, components, and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning.
- Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools.
- Install or replace machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts and instruments, using hand or power tools.
- Clean or lubricate vehicles, machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects, using hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment.
- Apply protective materials to equipment, components, and parts to prevent defects and corrosion.
- Transfer tools, parts, equipment, and supplies to and from work stations and other areas.
- Disassemble broken or defective equipment to facilitate repair and reassemble equipment when repairs are complete.
- Position vehicles, machinery, equipment, physical structures, and other objects for assembly or installation, using hand tools, power tools, and moving equipment.
- Hold or supply tools, parts, equipment, and supplies for other workers.
- Adjust, maintain, and repair tools, equipment, and machines, and assist more skilled workers with similar tasks.
- Order new parts to maintain inventory.
- Diagnose electrical problems and install and rewire electrical components.
- Design, weld, and fabricate parts, using blueprints or other mechanical plans.
Education: High School
Experience: 24 months
Skills:
- Knowledge of HVAC,
- Plumbing,
- Electrical
- Carpentry
- Mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents
- Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors
